Appointment of Interim City Manager

A Statement from the Asbury Park Mayor & City Council Regarding the
Appointment of Donna M. Vieiro to the Position of Interim City Manager

11/27/19 – The Mayor and Council of Asbury Park are pleased to announce the appointment of Donna M. Vieiro to the position of Interim City Manager for the City, effective December 1, 2019.

Ms. Vieiro, who is a City resident, previously served as the Township Administrator in Holmdel Township and the Municipal Manager in Franklin Township (Somerset). She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Rutgers University and brings over twenty years of municipal government/ management experience to Asbury Park. Ms. Vieiro is a former President of the New Jersey Municipal Management Association, and was previously honored as “Manager of the Year” in 2018.

The Mayor and Council have become familiar with Ms. Vieiro through her work and involvement on the City’s Budget Committee and in providing management assistance to the City for several projects earlier this year. The Mayor and Council look forward to working with Ms. Vieiro to facilitate moving the Governing Body’s important policy initiatives forward, and believe she will be a great asset to the City through the transition to a new permanent City Manager.
