Mission
The Asbury Park Engineering Department works to ensure the efficient management, funding, inspection and maintenance of the city’s roads, sewers, and infrastructure-related programs and initiatives
Duties & Challenges
- Performs and manages studies related to traffic circulation
- Performs and manages studies related to traffic signal, signage and pavement marking
- Resolves resident concerns related to storm drains and roads
- Designs and inspects projects within Right of Way (roads, drainage, sidewalks, and driveways)
- Approves street openings
- Approves curb, driveway apron and sidewalk inspections
- Manages remedial projects on city-owned properties and right of way
- Acts as the city’s representative overseeing the infrastructure and site development on the waterfront
- Reviews applications before the planning and zoning boards for compliance with governing standard and reviews the revised plans to ensure compliance with the resolution from both the planning and zoning boards
- Manages and designs the structure of the streetscape within the central business district
