The mission of the Tax Collections Department is to accurately and efficiently control the largest revenue source for the City of Asbury Park

Duties & Challenges

The Tax & Sewer Department of Asbury Park bills and collects all city, school and county charges according to the New Jersey State Statute. With utmost professionalism, the five-person Department bills, collects, enforces and reports all municipal funds to the governing body, specifically regarding all matters related to taxes and sewer:
  • Keeps records current for the governing body

  • Supplies lien information on Asbury Park properties to various entities

  • Sends out delinquent notices to property owners and mortgage companies

  • Prepares and distributes tax sale information to Asbury Park property owners prior to tax sales

  • Proves and deposits monies, collected for all municipal charges, received by close of business each day

  • Assists senior citizens with preparation of both municipal and state forms

  • Provides tax information to property owners when requested
