Technical Review Committee

The City's Technical Review Committee (TRC) was created by Ordinance Number 2626, adopted on January 22, 2003. The TRC is an advisory body which helps in the processing of applications for development for projects within the Waterfront Redevelopment Area. The TRC is the first step in the development review process for projects within the Waterfront Redevelopment Area.

All developers within the Asbury Park Waterfront Redevelopment Area shall submit architectural, civil engineering and landscaping plans to the TRC for review and comments. All construction projects within the Waterfront Redevelopment Area shall receive comments from the TRC prior to submission to the Mayor and Council acting as Redevelopment Agency for the City.

The TRC consists of eight persons, one of which is the Council member who also serves on the Planning Board, one is a representative of the State Department of Environmental Protection, one is a representative of the State Department of Community Affairs, one is a professional planner, one is a licensed architect, one is the Chairman of the Planning Board, one is the engineer serving the Planning Board, and the final member is a representative of the waterfront developer designated by Asbury Patners, LLC.

The Technical Review Committee meets upon request in City Council Chambers or City Manager’s Conference Room.
