Acceptable Materials - Recycling

WHAT TO RECYCLE HOW TO PREPARE DO NOT INCLUDE
  • Glass bottles
  • Clear, green, brown glass bottles and jars only.
  • EMPTY and rinse.
  • Remove caps & lids.
  • Labels are OK.
  • No broken glass.
  • No other glass items.
  • No ceramics. 
  • Plastic containers #1-#7
  • (numbers found on the bottom of the container with any of these symbols)
  • EMPTY and rinse.
  • Remove caps & lids.
  • Labels are OK.
  • No unnumbered plastics.
  • No margarine tubs.
  • NO PLASTIC BAGS.
  • (kitchen bags)
  • NO PLASTIC WRAP.
  • NO Styrofoam
  • Aluminum, tin, and other metal cans, aluminum trays and pie plates.
  • Empty aerosol cans.
  • EMPTY and rinse.
  • Cans may be flattened.
  • Labels are OK.
  • No paint cans.
  • No coat hangers (return to dry cleaner)
  • Newspapers, office paper, mixed paper, phone books, magazines, wrapping paper, paper bags, etc. 
  • Do not tie.
  • Shredded paper in
    brown bags only.
  • Fold / tape top of bag.
  • No tissues, paper towels, paper plates or other paper that has been in contact with food or beverage.
  • Cardboard, boxboard, corrugated cardboard and cartons. (i.e. cereal and tissue boxes, tissue, shoe boxes, etc.)
  • Flatten cardboard
    boxes.
  • Remove wax and foil liners from food boxes.
  • No boxes with food
    residue.
  • No pizza boxes.
  • Milk, orange juice cartons and juice boxes.
  •  EMPTY and rinse.
  •  Remove straws.

ALL ELECTRONICS (monitors, printers, stereos, vcr, dvd, cell phones) MUST BE RECYCLED.
PLEASE UTILIZE DROP-OFF CENTER AT 818 LAKE AVENUE. MON.—FRIDAY 4PM—8PM, SAT.—SUN. 10AM—2PM
