The sanitary sewer infrastructure under Memorial Drive will be replaced between Springwood Avenue and Bangs Avenue. When the replacement has been completed there will be a final milling and paving of this stretch of roadway.
Memorial Drive between Sixth Avenue and Asbury Avenue is being completely reconstructed. This includes the replacement of the sanitary sewer infrastructure and removal and replacement of all pavement and curbing. Once completed this stretch of Memorial Drive will have a new traffic pattern that will include protected bicycle lanes.
Numerous roadways between Main Street and Memorial Drive are scheduled to be milled and paved. Additionally, all sidewalks around Fireman’s Park are being replaced with new concrete sidewalks and Bond Street between Sunset Avenue and Fifth Avenue will be milled and paved.
The City has received federal funding for the reconstruction of Eight Avenue, Monroe Avenue from Prospect Avenue to Memorial Drive, and Comstock Street from Prospect Avenue to Asbury Avenue. This will include a replacement of any sanitary sewer and a full milling and paving of the roadway.
The intersection and traffic signal are to be upgraded to meet all current standards. The traffic signal will include pedestrian signaling and bump outs will be included at select corners to improve pedestrian safety and slow vehicles turning and traveling through the intersection.
