[ARCHIVED] DLC Public Presentation 10/17 on Storm Water Management for Property Owners

DLC Public Presentation 10-17-19

Thursday, 10/17 at 630pm at Interlaken Town Hall

The DLC monthly meeting will follow the presentation.

Wetlands Ecology and Green Infrastructure expert Dr Steve Souza and Asbury Park DLC Commissioner Jeannie Toher will present an educational workshop on topic of Storm Water Management and Green Infrastructure for Residential, Municipal and Commercial Properties, and discuss:

  • The impact storm water run-off has on our homes, lakes, health, safety, quality of life and the local economy
  • Peak flow and discharge, how development changes run off, impacts of impervious cover on aquatic systems, the newly enacted Clean Water and Flood Reduction Act
  • Ways property owners and towns can reduce run-off and save money by utilizing simple green and grey infrastructure techniques to trap and utilize rain water and run off, including a wide variety of solutions in addition to rain gardens such as rain barrels, dry wells, shore line buffers, BMPs and simple ways to utilize run off will be shared.
