*Application Deadline July 14th, 2022 11:00 AM
We are currently seeking mural artists to create murals during the month of August 2022
The City of Asbury Park, in conjunction with The Asbury Park Public Arts Commission, and with support from the Asbury Park Arts Council, is seeking artists from all backgrounds, locations, and levels of experience to create public art (murals) for a permanent mural project located on the city-owned Wastewater Treatment Facility located at 1700 Kingsley Street on the north end of the Asbury Park Boardwalk.
The program emphasizes focus on artistic freedom and expression, encouraging participating artists to bring their personal artistic vision to life leading to a diverse range of styles and content in a permanent public art installation in Asbury Park.
We seek to create opportunities for muralists at different experience levels and will offer multiple wall/panel sizes as palettes.
The following stipends shall be paid by the City of Asbury Park to the selected applicants:
Three Mural Panels – will provide artists up to $2500 *which includes artist stipend and materials
Two Mural Panels – will provide artists up to $2000 *which includes artist stipend and materials
One Mural Panel – will provide artists up to $1000 *which includes artist stipend and materials

Applications are open to any artist who follows the program guidelines.
Artists may apply as an individual or group; however, the budget & stipend provided is per mural, not per person.
Artists with all levels of experience are encouraged to apply. It is recommended, not required, that applicants have some experience painting outdoor murals at a larger scale.
Artists should visit the walls and familiarize themselves with the size and texture before applying. The wall is made of yellow brick.
