During the September 28th City Council Meeting, residential developer K. Hovnanian presented a $10,000 Workforce Development Scholarship to DeShawn Esdaile to attend the New Jersey Academy of Home Inspectors. The scholarship was created through a workforce agreement as part of K. Hovnanian’s development of The Cove townhouses where the City of Asbury Park required the developer to provide internship, mentorship and apprenticeship opportunities to local individuals in order to
develop the 48-luxury townhouse project.
“We congratulate DeShawn Esdaile on this scholarship and are pleased that we were able to provide this opportunity through K. Hovnanian,” said Mayor John Moor, “Other developers in the Waterfront Redevelopment Area are required to run similar programs which we hope will result in additional internship and apprenticeship opportunities for local residents.”
