City of Asbury Park Partners with EZ Ride to Provide  EZ Ryde4Life @ Asbury Park Essential Ride Program for Senior and Income-Eligible Residents

11/2/23, Asbury Park, NJ – The City of Asbury Park, through a partnership with non-profit corporation EZ Ride, will be offering the EZ Ryde4Life @ Asbury Park essential ride program to subsidize the cost of transportation for essential trips for senior (age 65+) and income-eligible residents. Rides are provided by EZ Ride in partnership with Transportation Network Companies (TNCs) like Lyft and Uber. The program, which will run until funding is exhausted, is available to Asbury Park residents from 8am to 8pm Monday-Friday and from 8am to 5pm on Saturday.

Riders may request essential trips such as grocery/food shopping, medical services, bank visits, etc. to destinations within Asbury Park, Allenhurst, Avon-By-The-Sea, Belmar, Bradley Beach, Deal, Eatontown, Interlaken, Lake Como, Loch Arbour, Long Branch, Neptune City, Neptune Township, Ocean Township, Spring Lake Heights, Spring Lake, and West Long Branch, as well as the Jersey Shore Premium Outlets.

Through the program, the City of Asbury Park will provide eligible residents with the initial registration fee and the first $15 of each trip taken (up to 6 trips per month) while funds are available. All additional expenses beyond the first $15, and over the maximum of the six (6) trips permitted each month, will be the responsibility of the rider.

Program participants must be an Asbury Park resident and be age 65+ or meet HUD income-eligibility guidelines. Registration forms can be picked up at Asbury Park City Hall (1 Municipal Plaza) or found online at www.cityofasburypark.com/ezride. To register, participants must provide required documentation, have a credit card and a working cell phone.

“We are grateful to EZ Ride for all of the work they do to help improve the quality of life for our residents and to the City’s Transportation Director James Bonanno for addressing a vital need in our community,” said Mayor John Moor, “The EZ Ryde4Life program supports the health and well-being our senior and income-eligible residents, many of whom don’t own vehicles, by eliminating transportation barriers to make essential services more easily accessible.”
