City Council Announces Additional Coffee with a Councilperson Event Dates for 2020

Council Encourages Residents to Attend and Get to Know Their Elected Officials

7/14/20, Asbury Park, NJ – The City Council of Asbury Park will be hosting additional Coffee with a Councilperson events in 2020 to provide an opportunity for residents to get to know their elected officials, ask questions and provide comment. Events will be hosted at various locations throughout the City with two members of City Council in attendance at each event. Planned Coffee with a Councilperson dates include:    

•     Tuesday, July 21 at 11am – Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea located at 521 Cookman Avenue (Outdoor event weather permitting, Masks required) *** PLEASE NOTE EVENT IS NOW AT 11AM INSTEAD OF 10AM***

•    Thursday, August 20 at 10am – Location to Be Announced

•    Tuesday, September 15 at 10am – Location to Be Announced

•    Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 10am – Location to Be Announced

“Our past Coffee with a Councilperson events were well attended and provided a casual environment for citizens to get to know us and learn about ways they can be actively involved in our community,” said Councilperson Yvonne Clayton, “They’re a great opportunity for our residents to become more informed about the many services the City provides.”

“Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had to cancel our event for April, but we are pleased to be able to offer a safe opportunity for residents to get to know us and ask questions with an outdoor Coffee with a Councilperson in July,” said Councilperson Eileen Chapman, “Additionally, we’ve added dates in August and September to the schedule to provide as many opportunities as possible for residents to attend an event.”
