The municipal court is responsible for all criminal and traffic complaints.

We are an independent branch of government constitutionally entrusted with the fair and just resolution of disputes in order to preserve the rule of law and to protect the rights and liberties guaranteed by the Constitution and laws of the United States and this State.

You may contact the court administrator at (732) 775-1765. 

For your convience, you may pay your  traffic time payments or traffic tickets  by going on line to www.njmcdirect.com.  The prompts will walk you through the process.  You will need the court identification number which is 1303, prefix, ticket number and license plate number as it appears on the top of your ticket (example: AA 12345 or SP4123456).  Criminal cases can not presently be paid via web only traffic.  You also will have access to MVC to see if your ticket carries points. This service is available 7 days a week.. 


The Municipal Court offers a choice in choosing ways to handle complaints. We have mediation sessions which can be either voluntary or ordered by the Judge. In this form, a neutral mediator sits down with both parties and works out a plan to resolve the issues that brought them there. Second, we have formal complaints that can be filed with the Court and after court hours you may proceed to the Police Department to file these complaints. . These are citizen vs citizen.
